Phoning on the CallEvo/PCT system – getting set up and basic troubleshooting
#

Ingredients that you need to get started:

  • Computer or tablet with Chrome browser and internet connection
  • Headset or phone
  • Web address for the login page, plus your username and password – you will get this information from the campaign you are working with
Logging in with a headset:

  • Make sure the headset is
    plugged in before you log
    in

  • The first time you log in, a
    window will appear saying
    that callevo wants to use
    your microphone – click on
    ALLOW.
Logging in with a phone (cellphone or landline):
If you don’t have a headset or your internet connection isn’t very good, you can use your computer or tablet to see information and mark responses and use a phone for the conversations

  • On the login page, before you log in, click on the Settings button. Change Use Dialback to YES, fill in your 10-digit phone number in the box, and click SAVE.

  • Log in with your username and password. The system will call your phone, and you are now connected. Do not hang up your phone between calls – if you do, you will have to log in again.

  • Remember to use a phone that has unlimited minutes on the account – you will stay connected to the calling system for a long time.
Make a test call or two to make sure you are familiar with the system and have good sound quality. In the upper right part of the screen, click on the Manual Call button. Choose the manual calls campaign from the dropdown, fill in the 10-digit number of someone you want to call, and click on Dial.

Follow the instructions on screen to end the call.

Your internet connection:

Most internet connections are strong enough to let one or two people phone on this system with no problems. If you do have issues, here are some things to check.

  • WiFi vs wired connection – if you’re having problems, plugging your computer in to your router with a network cable can help

  • WiFi – where do you have the strongest signal? Usually, the WiFi signal is strongest if you are sitting close to the router. Find a comfortable place to work where you have a good strong signal.

  • Who else is using your internet? If other people in your household are streaming video or playing video games, that can affect your ability to have a good phoning experience.

Basic troubleshooting:

  • Keep an eye on the indicators in the lower left corner of your screen. If either of them goes from green to red, you have lost your connection to the system. Close your browser and log back in.
  •  If that doesn’t solve the issue, reboot your computer. If you are having constant internet issues, it can also be
helpful to reboot your modem/router by unplugging it, waiting a minute, then plugging it back in.
  •  Reach out to your team lead if these steps do not solve your problem.

Working as a team:
You will be phoning as part of a team, even if you’re not in the same room. It is very important that you stick to the team schedule for when to start and stop phoning and when to take breaks. The system works best when everyone is on the same schedule.

Communications:
If you are working remotely, it is extra important that you have good communications with your team and the people in charge of the program. Make sure that you understand how to join planning meetings, where you can see what the schedule is, and who to reach out to during phoning if questions come up that you can’t answer
